Share a library
Send a link to the family: your relatives see the books of the library and reserve the ones they want to give.
Create a share link
- Open the library to share, then tap the Share icon at the top of the page.
- Choose Create a share link.
- Send the link to your relatives, by message or email (copy button on the right of the link), or let them scan the QR code.
Without the link, a relative can also type the code shown below it on the Join a shelf page of the app.
A link works for 7 days and can be used by several relatives. After that, create a new one: the relatives who already joined keep their access.
The link stays shown, with its QR code and its code, on the device that created it, as long as it is valid. On your other devices, the app tells that a link is active but cannot show it: we do not keep the code itself. Create a New share link then: the previous one stops working, the relatives who already joined keep their access.
What your relatives see
Your relatives see every book of the library, the ones you own and the ones you wish for. They never see your ratings nor your comments.
To join the library they need no account: the link is enough, and they pick a nickname.
Reservations
Before buying a wanted book, a relative reserves it: the others see it is taken, without knowing by whom. Only you see who reserved what.
A relative can also suggest a book that is not in the library yet.
If you prefer to keep control, turn on The reservations of the relatives need my approval in the Settings of the library (icon at the top of the page): each reservation then waits for your approval.
Stop sharing
In the Settings of the library, Sharing section:
- Revoke the link: nobody new can join with it, the relatives who already joined keep their access.
- Remove a relative: they no longer see the library.
As a relative
In a library shared with you, the Settings icon at the top of the page lets you change My nickname (the one the owner sees) or Leave the shelf: your reservations are then canceled.
